Patients who want to have a beautiful smile need to focus on improving the appearance of their front teeth, as they are the most visible in a smile. Veneers are often the best option to do it. Indications for using veneers include:
- Enhancing the aesthetics of both the color and shape of the teeth
- Correcting anatomical imperfections such as differences in size and shape of teeth
- Eliminating enamel discoloration (including post-root canal discoloration)
- Filling enamel gaps, small fractures, and developmental defects (this is beneficial for both aesthetic and health reasons)
- Closing gaps between teeth (the so-called diastemas)
- Stabilizing bite alignment after orthodontic treatment (we write more about this in the paragraph on bonding).
Choosing the right type of veneers depends on several factors, including bite conditions, individual indications and contraindications for different types of veneers, and the patient’s budget. Our dental clinic helps patients select the most appropriate technique to achieve the desired result: a beautiful smile that lasts for years.
Bonding, also known as composite veneers, is a very popular method for improving the appearance of teeth using aesthetic, easy-to-shape composite materials. These materials are applied directly to the teeth, allowing for their reshaping and customized changes in color.
Bonding is often used to enhance orthodontic treatment results. By adjusting the shape and size of individual teeth, we can achieve a satisfying final result – both aesthetically pleasing and, most importantly, fully functional. After orthodontic treatment, teeth often don’t come into proper contact (don’t fit together properly) due to wear caused by the previous misaligned bite (also called malocclusion). This problem is referred to as abnormal occlusion, or improper occlusal relationships. It can result in difficulty in chewing and discomfort in the jaw joints. Bonding can be used to reshape the teeth so that they contact each other properly, enabling correct chewing function.
We recommend composite veneers for patients who want a beautiful smile and, but above all, healthy teeth.
