An orthodontic appliance should be tailored individually to the patient's age, bite problem, and needs. Charme Clinique uses different types of appliances during treatment:
- Removable orthodontic appliance – inserted and removed by the patient (or their parents) on their own. It is most often used for correcting bite problems in children during the developmental stage of their teeth.
- Fixed appliance – This system consists of various attachments (brackets, rings) bonded to the teeth with special adhesives. Fixed appliances are divided into:
- Metal bracket appliances
- Aesthetic bracket appliances (which are less visible)
- Clear aligner (clear braces) – These aesthetic appliances provide comfort regarding the patient’s appearance during the treatment process. The appliance consists of clear, transparent braces. They are periodically changed by the patient under the supervision of the doctor. This treatment requires a high level of discipline from the patient – adhering to appointment schedules and instructions and maintaining excellent oral hygiene. Upon starting treatment, the patient receives a set of aligners. The number and cycles of aligner changes depend on the type of bite problem.
