Orthodontic treatment is a multi-stage process. At our dental clinic, it follows the plan outlined below:
- Orthodontic consultation – During this appointment, an orthodontist learns about the patient’s expectations and their health needs related to the existing bite problem.
- Orthodontic diagnostics – Performing necessary X-rays and diagnostic models, which provide a representation of the patient's bite conditions. This helps in planning the appropriate treatment. Models are prepared in an orthodontic lab based on impressions taken by the dentist during the visit. In justified cases, the doctor may refer the patient for a prosthetic, surgical, or implant consultation, depending on the type of bite issue and the final result the patient wishes to achieve.
- Presentation and discussion of the orthodontic treatment plan and cost estimate (based on diagnostic models and X-ray findings).
- Orthodontic treatment:
- Selection of the treatment method
- Fitting the appropriate orthodontic appliance
- Follow-up visits every 4-6 weeks
- Removal of the appliance – Cleaning/polishing the teeth that had appliance components attached.
- Stabilization phase – Placement of appropriately chosen retention to stabilize the treatment results.
